I’m pretty sure if we passed each other on the street today,
our eyes would meet.
We’d search for recognition—
not out of longing,
but out of curiosity.
We might nod without words,
and keep walking.
A silent understanding between us:
some endings are the most important moments of our lives.
Some endings define us.
They test our resolve.
They demand courage
as we face the adversity of starting over.
Some endings mark a benchmark—
a line drawn in time
where we know,
with certainty,
we will never return.
Some endings are as beautiful as beginnings.
They carry the same weight,
the same possibility,
the same invitation to grow.
Some endings were initiated on April 17th.
And I will never forget.
