with laughter in her voice
and tenderness from the start.

I know the girl you’re looking for—
the one who held you tight,
with passion in her fingertips
every single night.

I know the girl you’re looking for—
the one who held your hand,
who couldn’t wait to tell the world
the dreams she had all planned.

I know the girl you’re looking for—
her smile reached her eyes,
a dreamer, an artisan,
a spirit that felt alive.

I know the girl you’re looking for—
she heard your story well,
listened to your dreams
and helped you believe you’d excel.

But that girl’s been missing for a while.
She lost herself along the road—
a crooked, winding mile.

She missed some turns,
and reached a point
that forced her soul to see:
